Healthcare today is so focused on disease care versus prevention. But hospitals don’t promote the fundamentals of health living anymore! Living a healthy lifestyle involves many different factors, including good nutrition, exercise, water, sunlight, temperance, air, rest, and trust in God. Each of these elements plays an important role in maintaining physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. And often times, these basic elements, if implemented appropriately, help reverse and heal the already diseased!

Today, we’re reviewing the basic health fundamentals. Have you ever heard of NEWSTART? It’s an accronym that stands for: Nutrition, Exercise, Water, Sunlight, Temperance, Air, Rest, Trust in God.

Let’s start from the top. Good nutrition is essential for fueling the body with the nutrients it needs to function properly. Eating a balanced diet that includes plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains, lean protein, and healthy fats can help prevent chronic diseases and promote overall health.

Exercise is also crucial for maintaining good health. Regular physical activity can help improve cardiovascular health, build muscle, and reduce the risk of chronic diseases such as diabetes, obesity, and heart disease. It can also improve mental health by reducing stress, anxiety, and depression.

Water is another essential element of a healthy lifestyle. Drinking plenty of water can help keep the body hydrated, aid in digestion, and flush out toxins from the body. Sunlight is also important for maintaining good health, as it provides the body with vitamin D, which is necessary for strong bones and a healthy immune system.

Temperance, or moderation, is important for maintaining balance in life. This means avoiding excess in all areas, including sugar, alcohol, caffeine, and other substances. It also means practicing self-control and avoiding harmful behaviors.

Air is something we often take for granted, but clean air is essential for good health. Breathing polluted air can cause respiratory problems and other health issues. Taking steps to reduce air pollution and improve indoor air quality can help protect our health.

Finally, sufficient rest and trusting in God are important for maintaining overall well-being. Getting enough sleep and taking time to rest and recharge can help reduce stress and improve mental health. Trusting in God can be a source of great comfort, peace, and strength during difficult times. In addition to giving us the necessary support to face life's challenges, it can also help us maintain a positive outlook on life and maintain our spiritual health. Moreover, our faith is an essential aspect of salvation, as it helps us to build a strong relationship with Christ as we follow His teachings. By relying on God's guidance and wisdom, we can navigate the ups and downs of life with greater ease and confidence, knowing that He has already won the victory for us and offers et
