The fitness industry is smart, too smart. They’ve sold us on the idea that we need a protein bar or shake immediately upon finishing our workout, and we need to eat six small meals a day. This makes it super difficult to eat real, whole food. How convenient then that the fitness industry ALSO sells protein bars and shakes! What a coincidence. In this episode, we break down why protein bars and shakes are NOT good choices, as well as what to look for if you absolutely must have one of the options. We also discuss a few of my favorite post-workout foods that aren’t bars or shakes. This episode is brought to you by: Personal Prep – need help making healthy meals attainable for your family? Personal Prep has your back! With simple healthy meals (that do NOT include any of the big four), you can provide meals for your family without going to the store or doing any of the work. Visit oliviaborer.com/personal-prep for the menu today! Beautycounter – what we put on our skin is just as important as what we eat. Make sure that you are choosing QUALITY products that will not cause more harm than good! You can find all my favorites shop at beautycounter.com/oliviaborer
