This week Angelo heads to Paris for some outdoor adventure! Garth Pottruff from Grand River Rafting in Paris, Ontario, joins Angelo to talk about adventures by raft, tube, kayak, canoe and stand up paddle board. One of the adventures includes a gourmet trout cook off!
Can David tame Goliath? The Nicola Valley Fish and Game Club is engaged in a court battle with a U.S. billionaire, for access to fishing lakes. The case is being heard in the British Columbia Supreme Court. Rick McGowan is a Director of the club, and he joins Angelo with an update on this case. Is this a precedent case for Canadian sportsmen?
On the Go Fish in Ontario segment, Tim Hurley from Hidden River Lodge joins Angelo. The lodge near Wawa, is located on Whitefish Lake, which is part of the famous Michipicoten River system. This diverse fishery includes walleye, northern pike, smallmouth bass and some secret hot spots for trophy brook trout.
If you’re middle aged, and play pick up hockey or you jog or cross country ski, what are your risks of a heart attack? Dr. Andrew Pipe is a heart specialist from the University of Ottawa Heart Institute. Dr. Pipe joins Angelo to talk about Heart and Stroke Month in Canada, and whether the benefits of vigorous exercise outweigh the risks.
While you sip on your latte, your dog Rover dines on foie gras doggie biscuits? Is gourmet doggie dining the next fad? Pet vet Dr. Marie Holowaychuk joins Angelo to talk about expensive doggie treats, and the push to add pets to employee health benefit plans.
