Happy Birthday Canada!
Today marks the beginning of National Fishing Week in Canada, and Licence Free Family Fishing week in Ontario. Princecraft makes the oldest and most popular aluminum recreational boats in
Canada. Jean-Philippe Martin Dubois joins Angelo to talk about 63 years of boat building.

Princecraft has put more Canadian sport fishermen on the water, than any other aluminum boat manufacturer. Which birthday party will you attend to celebrate Canada 150? Lea Parrell from the Redpath Waterfront Festival, says that Queen’s Quay on the Toronto waterfront, should be your choice.

This outdoor celebration has lumberjacks, music, kid’s activities and the biggest rubber duck in the world. Retired Canadian General Rick Hillier, joins Angelo from Vimy Ridge and
Beaumont Hamel in France. In April of 1917, four divisions of Canadian soldiers took Vimy Ridge with a staggering number of casualties.

Historians say this was a defining moment in Canadian history. On July 1, 1917 the Newfoundland Regiment, was decimated at Beaumont Hamel. General Hillier shares the story about the price of the freedom that we enjoy in Canada.

Dawn Whiteside from Coleman Canada joins Angelo with a gift for a listener. Coleman has a proud tradition as leaders in the outdoor recreation equipment business. It all started in the early days of the 19th century. On the Go Fish in Ontario segment, Angelo will be joined by Kerstin Kelly, the owner of the oldest fishing lodge in Ontario…or so we think! Crooked Lake
Wilderness Lodge is just 2 hours north of Toronto. The lodge dates back to the 1850’s, which is before Canadian Confederation. Kerstin has stories to tell about giant largemouth bass.
