Spoiler alert: Kindness is alive and well! We just need to recognise and celebrate it more.In this episode of the RG10 Podcast, we hear about two online spaces dedicated to sharing the good stuff that we humans are capable of. All too often, both in business and in private life, we focus on what's tough or difficult. We forget to be grateful for (or even notice) the everyday kindness we receive, or to consider how we ourselves can take action to make life better for others. Brightening someone's morning or helping them in a difficult situation are just as valid as making a positive impact in the long term. So, banish any more thoughts about so-called 'Blue Monday' this January and give a warm welcome to our inspiring guests. Meriel Hart - Co-founder and admin of the Twyford Kindness Facebook group. Created 4 years ago, primarily to facilitate fundraising and collecting items donated for local charities and PTAs, the group has grown into a community of 1,400 members. This 'kindness army' uses the group to share positive posts, seek and give support, publicise charity events and celebrate successes.
Sarah Browning - Communications strategy professional based in Woodley and founder of Time For Kindness. The website includes #ProjectAmplifyKindess, sharing stories of kindness to inspire and uplift, and a series of blog posts designed to spark ideas and motivate actions to generate kindness. In the words of this kindness cheerleader, even when facing challenges, 'If we can deliberately and explicitly look for kindness - and see the kindness rather than focusing on that negativity - it does create a virtuous circle.
