Renee Reina had a full ride scholarship to a university in Florida to play volleyball. After her first semester, she realized that she missed playing volleyball for fun, and a move back home was in order. With the decision to switch schools and direction came the challenges of navigating her identity without volleyball, something she’d played for so many years of her life.

Years later, Renee holds a Masters and a Ph. D in Psychology, has started a family, and is growing her social media platforms and podcast quickly and with intention. She’s the Mom friend you’ve always wanted, with her relatability and her ability to find humour in all things Mom-life.

With psychology training in defense mechanisms, attachment, and reflective functioning, this conversation is right up my alley!! We speak about the socialization of young girls, being quiet, and how crucial it is to share stories and questions and experiences regarding motherhood.
