85. Navigating Sickness in Your Fitness Journey

Sometimes it's hard to know whether you should hit the gym or hit snooze when you are feeling under the weather. Sickness is something I used to struggle with in my fitness journey and since I have been sick for going on 7 days ... I decided to get real in this episode about how I have navigated these last few days to hopefully give you permission to navigate in a similar way when you are sick.
Being able to listen to and understand your body is vital when you are sick. Your body needs to trust you and pushing it too hard is never beneficial. I know the importance of listening to my body and understanding the value of rest days. "Control what you can" is a quote I live by always but especially in these times.
In this episode, I share my personal experience on the blurred lines between self-care and commitment to fitness goals. Taking a day off does not need to viewed as a failure and it doesn't mean you have to "start over". The alol or nothing mindset doesnt do us any favors here.
I also share my own tips and tricks on making the most of rest days. It's all about recognizing that fitness is a long-term marathon and not a short-term sprint. I hope you enjoy this episode as an open and honest discussion about the importance of resting during sickness and the role of self-care in our fitness journey.
