A copyright is a type of intellectual property that protects the author of an original work. Copyrights are created as soon as a work is made tangible (this includes digital). However, in order to sue someone for copyright infringement the work has to be registered with the Copyright Office (if you're in the US). Copyrights also exist as poetry, blog posts, photographs, and much more.
In this episode, Monique, Lennon, and Rob talk about what a copyright in music is, how they're registered and enforced, what rights a copyright holder has, and what happens if someone infringes those rights.
