Welcome back to the Unsaid Truth podcast presented by Thurgood Marshall College Fund. This week join our hosts Jerrin Strayhorn and Khadija Campbell as they navigate through relationships at work – defining colleagues, work friends, and real friends in the office.
As kids we’re friends with people because they share interests with us, but also because they live geographically close to us. When we go to college we become friends with like-minded people who live in our dorm or study with us, but this style of making friends goes out the window when we move into corporate America. There are going to be generational gaps as well as cultural and lifestyle differences in the office that make navigating relationships harder.
This episode is going to shine a light – and put a clearer definition on what it means to be a colleague, a work friend, and a real friend. You’ll also get Jerrin and Khadija’s cheat codes for setting boundaries and avoiding conflict.
Remember to subscribe and tune in wherever you get your podcasts. We’ll see you next week, new episodes are out every Wednesday.
