Once again into the breach, dear friends. Welcome to a Very Special Episode of the Watch This Show Podcast. Show. Thing.

You better put on your big-boy pants before wading into the middle section of the show. Nate and I do our best to separate the artist from his art, and see what we can come up with. It’s time to talk about Woody, and the current rehashing of a decades-old, morally reprehensible scandal.

And, given that the news of his death via overdose (allegedly) was released roughly 15 minutes before we recorded, it’s also time to talk about Phillip Seymour Hoffman.

It’s about as deep a discussion as Nate and I ever have, so of course we completely fuck it up. But hey, you get what you pay for.

If that’s more than you can bear, fear not. We have a full slate of the type of entertainment you’ve come to expect from this podcast-show-thing: The Clip Show (new name, which I just made up right now) makes a return, Nate emcee’s a game of Name That Singing Actor, and we have reviews of Her, Blue Jasmine, and The Way Way Back, as well as half reviews of All Is Lost and The Lovely Bones.

In addition, we have songs from Trombone Shorty, Johnny Cash, and even a bluegrass cover of The White Stripes. No, we don’t have permission, but fuck it. We’re linking to them, we’re playing less than half the songs without talking over them, and we’re literally telling everyone to buy the songs. COME AT ME BRO.

So sit back, relax, and stare deep into the train set. This won’t hurt a bit.

We believe the musical tracks played in this show are all used under the tenets of Fair Use. If you are the copyright holder on one of the pieces used in this show and believe otherwise, use the contact information at right to get in touch and you can tell us why you feel otherwise.
