Why is chronic illness so common now compared to generations prior? We believe our food system is the number one factor contributing to the rise of chronic illness for many reasons - the introduction of highly processed foods into our diets, the creation of food deserts in low income neighborhoods, inadequate production of nutrient dense foods, and industrialized chemical-dependent agriculture (to name a few). Sometimes the message in the health and wellness field is to just simply eat better - which totally misses the mark. Unfortunately, we have systems in place that prevent people from having the proper education, tools and resources to do so...and it's time we change that!
