In today's episode, I talked to a person wearing many hats. She is a teacher, writer, content creator, and the person behind InspirLang, a Chinese language school in NYC that focuses on Mandarin Chinese, Cantonese, and Taishanese language teaching. It offers online courses, private and group classes to adult learners. Her name is Jade Wu.
In our conversation, we went in-depth on the origin story of Jade, from her early beginnings growing up in China till her immigration to America as a teen to her becoming a Chinese-American diaspora teaching the Chinese languages in NYC.
We got into her immigrant experience as a teen and the reasons why she started teaching Canontese to first only her friends till now where she made it into her career teaching the Chinese languages (since the pandemic).
