In the Star Trek universe, folks on earth live in peaceful harmony, work hard to pursue their passion and everyone has the latest smartphone even though there’s no money. For a culture that prides itself on free love and harmony, the Federation always seems to get into a fight on every show.
In the cliffhanger episode “Si Vis Pacem, Para Bellum” which is Latin for “If you seek peace, prepare for war,” Michael Burnham goes on a date with her new boyfriend Ash Tyler to Pavo, a blue planet full of magical beings who sing together as one. Saru is chaperoning them on this field trip to unlock the secrets of a giant crystal antenna which the Federation thinks will help them detect Klingon vessels that are cloaked and end the war once and for all.
But like in all Star Trek episodes, those peace loving hippies have a way of fucking your shit up!
What the Trek?! Welcome to the podcast where we fabulously explore all the strange new episodes from the TV series Star Trek: Discovery.
I’m your ship’s captain,Fausto Fernós. I can reprogram an alien computer to escape a prison ship, but can’t calculate the tip when the bill comes at a restaurant.
Please welcome my first officer and husband Marc Felion who knows how to do the Vulcan Nerve pinch but for orgasms.
Our ship’s cruise director Colette Gregory, who is sick and tired of that sticky mess y’all keep leaving in the holodeck.
And our ships’ little miss know it all Brian Sweeney, who is stuck in a time fruit loop.
