In the guise of anti-discrimination laws, Christians are being denied foundational human rights (i.e. requiring Catholic adoption agencies to allow adoption by same sex couples, requiring Catholic health care to conduct abortions). Why is it important for a strong democratic and pluralist society to uphold the right of freedom of religious expression? Rocky Mimmo holds a Masters in International Law and takes a keen interest in human rights. He studies developments in anti-discrimination laws in Australia and their effects on individuals and organisations who wish to manifest their religious beliefs and practices. He is founder and chairman of he Ambrose Centre for Religious Liberty. This talk was held at Star Bar on Tuesday 13th July 2010.
