The Way of Love for Kids is a walk through a thoughtful set of practices designed to draw each of us closer to the heart of God. Over twelve episodes we will explore ways to connect with God and each other. Some of these practices may be familiar, while others may invite you toward a new way of wondering about God and this Way of Love.

Today KariAnn visits with brothers Jack and James. We talk about our favorite service in the church year, where you need to be to worship (#spoileralert you can worship ANYWHERE!) and what it means to live a life of worship. Kyrie means Lord - FYI We invite you to secure your seatbelts (if you are in the car - parents drive the speed limit) and/or settle in for a few minutes of wondering and wandering with us on the Way of Love for Kids.

Questions from The Way of Love for Kids Episode #6: What is your favorite Sunday or other service of the Church year? Why? What is your favorite song or hymn? Why do you like it? What is your least favorite song or hymn? (Why?) What is the most meaningful part of the worship service to you? Why? Have you ever experienced God’s presence in a worship service? Have you ever experienced a church service outside the Cathedral?

Additional Questions for wondering: There is a hymn in the 1982 Hymnal that says “I come with Christians far and near to find, as all are fed, the new community of love in Christ’s communion bread.” What does a “new community of love” mean to you?

Challenge/Question(s)/Practice: 1. Have you ever arrived early to church and taken a few moments to quiet your body, your mind and your mouth? I challenge you to try it. Try a few good/quiet Hmmmm Breaths to help you settle in. 2. When you are in church next time, pay close attention to words or phrases in the songs, readings, sermons or announcements that you’d like to know more about. Write them down or ask an adult to write them down so you can ask more about them after the service. 3. Invite a friend to church with you this week.

We really hope you are enjoying the Way of Love podcast! Me and my mini-BFF’s have had a blast putting these episodes together (and if we are being honest we’ve enjoyed listening to ourselves too!) Now it’s YOUR TURN to share. We want to hear how you are practicing the Way of Love. We’d love to know which practice is your favorite? Turn, Learn, Pray, Worship, Bless, Go or Rest? Share a special memory you’ve created on the Way of Love. Tell us which practice is hard. Say your favorite table grace together for us as a family. Sing us your favorite song. We are going to put all of the messages together into one HUGE EPISODE - so we can ALL HEAR HOW WE are growing and learning on the Way of Love. Just give us a call at 832.377.1973 . Leave us a message - be sure to start by telling us your FIRST NAMES ONLY - along with your city and state and then share your story with us. That’s 832.377.1973 We can all grow together if we share our journey on the Way of Love.
