Two weeks ago I received amazing news: I am now a board-certified dermatologist!

Dermatology is one of the most competitive specialties in medicine. It takes passion, dedication, and a LOT of studying to reach this milestone. Today I’m going to give you a sneak peek into the twelve-year educational journey that I took to get here. So, whether you’re interested in a career in dermatology, or you just want to know how dermatologists become experts in their field, this episode is for you!

In this episode, we’ll cover:

  • The educational requirements to become a dermatologist
  • The importance that networking and relationship building plays in becoming a dermatologist
  • The wide array of focuses that dermatologists can have
  • The benefits of being actively involved in research throughout your education
  • What the credential ‘FAAD’ means
