This week, I sit down with David Brazil and Sarah Pritchard, co-founders of Abolition Apostles. David is a pastor, poet, and translator, and Sarah is a pastor and dancer. They have a baby boy Sam that is very present in the interview. They both also assisted with creating the 4-day “Abolition 2021” virtual benefit music concert featuring members of Mumford and Sons, Lumineers, Molly Tuttle, and many more. We discuss the details of the event. The event is a fundraiser to support the funding of a hospitality house located outside of Louisiana State Penitentiary at Angola. During the episode, we chat about the history of slavery in America and at Angola Prison. We have a conversation that includes many topics, including mass incarceration in the US, “The War on Drugs,” and the history of White Supremacy in the US judicial and legal systems. Please enjoy my conversations with David, Sarah, and … Sam
