We have two geniuses on the podcast today! Chris Song helps high-achieving women make peace with food and their body. Chris is an anti-diet and body image master coach, and Racquel is a personal trainer who does fitness through an anti-diet lens.

Together, they did a workshop recently on The Color of Diet Culture: An Image Based on Racism, Sexism, and the Thin Ideal. We’ve talked before about the ways in which diet culture is steeped in white supremacy, but they took it to a whole new level in this one. They talk about the importance of understanding the history and roots of diet culture and how it tries to strip us of our culture and heritage by white-washing healthism.

We’ve got to stop stripping away our identity to be a part of this world. It’s time to reclaim our cultural identity, stop using BMI as an ideal to strive for, and stop expecting our problems to go away when our body is a certain size. And we have to stop letting them put cauliflower in popsicles — * ~ * ~ diEt CulTuRe ~ * ~ * has gone TOO FAR!
