Today we are discussing the practice of Mindfulness as a path to reducing stress and living a more present life. The impact of stress can be exhausting or even debilitating over the course of years or decades of a difficult marriage, the uncertainty of divorce and the unfamiliarity of life after divorce. There are many ways of dealing with such stress. Mindfulness is a powerful tool that can significantly reduce your stress reaction.

Today we discuss the benefits and power of Mindfulness and the specific approach of MBSR, Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction. Our guest, Dr. Posniak shares what happens when we are faced with stress and the mental, emotional and physical reactions that occur. She describes the value of resilience in navigating life and the role mindfulness plays in growing our resilience. Erica also walks us through a lovely short mindfulness experience and shares quick and easy practices that we can engage in every day.

Dr Erica Posniak is a board certified physician with more than 30 years experience practicing medicine and teaching in academic medical centers. Erica is a Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction( MBSR) teacher, trained at the University of Massachusetts Medical School and at the Brown University School of Public Health. Dr. Posniak coaches and offers mindfulness and mindfulness based stress reduction workshops and classes to individuals and groups around the world and has authored several blogs and lectures on mindfulness topics.
