As a West Point cadet Dr. Meehan excelled in academics, athletics, and leadership. He was recognized as the Outstanding Fourth Class Cadet and selected to lead his classmates as Regimental Commander of the Corps of Cadets. Dr. Meehan attended Oklahoma University College of Medicine where he served as class president and received the prestigious Presbyterian-Harris Medical Student Research Scholarship. This research award allowed him to pursue research in ophthalmology at the Dean McGee Eye Institute. After completing an internship in internal medicine at Oklahoma University in Tulsa, Jim began his training at Washington University and Barnes-Jewish hospital in St. Louis, a top-ten ranked ophthalmology residency program. In addition to serving as chief resident of the John Cochran VA medical center, Dr. Meehan served three years as an associate editor for the Journal of Ocular Immunology. Jim is now focused on the mission of delivering preventive and proactive health care using patient-centered IT / telemedicine practices. He is fulfilling a passion to empower consumers with information and intelligent solutions for continuous home measurement and self-monitoring of their health biomarkers. Dr. Meehan holds a third degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do, and he is an NAGA World Jiu-Jitsu Champion, and inducted member of the Martial Arts Masters Hall of Fame.
