Today’s topic is a very balanced podcast around the importance of weight training (for females) as well as touching and on the importance of nutrition with one of Australia’s leading female fitness professional, Justine Switalla. Justine started as a Personal Trainers as well as a Les Mills Presenter before becoming a sports model, a body science ambarrasador and has also featured on the front cover of oxygen magazine on a number of occasions.

Throughout this podcast Justine’s talks about the importance of weight training and why it is so beneficial, regardless of your age and / or gender. Justine discusses why everyone should lift and the benefits associated with strength training, which include;

  • Bone health
  • Injury prevention
  • Improved quality of life
  • Long term health benefits, &
  • To have the ability feel strong

Justine’s message is simple, ‘you will not change your shape by just doing cardiovascular exercise, so just get started. Go through the process, follow a structured plan that works for you and if you don’t know where to start, seek professional advice’.

This podcast offers a lot of educational advice and Justine shares her experience and expertise around training and nutrition, as well as the importance of recovery. Justine even touches on her method, ‘The Pyramid of Importance’, MINDSET > NUTRITION > TRAINING.
