This week I had an interesting conversation with R.S. Mellette, a scriptwriter and author with dyslexia. He was the script coordinator for Xena the Warrior Princess, Nutty Professor 2 and Blue Crush. Mellette has also worked and blogged for the film festival Dances With Films as well as the novelist collective, From The Write Angle, and he is on the board of the L.A. region of the Society of Children’s Book Writers & Illustrators. In this episode, we are going to explore how R.S. Mellette came to know about dyslexia and how it helped him in being a screenwriter and, later on, being an author. He’s just about to publish the first book of a series called Kiya and the Morian Treasure which actually takes him more than 20 years to publish.
