Marlene Watson-Tara is a pioneer in plant-based nutrition and is based in London. She is a high-profiled Health Educator, Macrobiotic Counsellor and a Cooking Teacher with over 40 years of experience in plant-based nutrition and lifestyle. Marlene’s dietary learnings are driven from the field of Macrobiotic Nutrition and her studies in Traditional Chinese Medicine. Marlene is a graduate of T. Colin Campbell Center for Nutrition. She is also a teacher of chiball, yoga, pilates, tai chi, chi gong, based on TCM and the 5 transformations.

Marlene is an internationally renowned author of 5 books including ‘Macrobiotics for all Seasons’, ‘Go Vegan’ and ‘Weight Loss Nature's Way’. Marlene, and her partner Bill Tara, are pioneers of the Macrobiotic movement and they have developed a vegan macrobiotic approach called ‘MACROVegan’.

Marlene passionately teaches all aspects of health and wellness and has conducted workshops on the idea of ‘Living with the Seasons’ in various parts of Europe, America and Australia. She has a list of clients ranging from movie stars and artists to members of royal families. She has also been teaching chef's the arts and skills of Macrobiotic cooking. Marlene has created many courses over 43 years of teaching and has graduates from their “Macrobiotic Vegan Health Coach Programme” in 27 countries.

Marlene is a regular columnist for many yoga, health magazines and websites. Her “Ultimate Health Experience” workshops have been offered in Europe, America, and Australia over the last three decades.

Personally, Marlene is a long-time vegan, activist, lover of animals, nature and life and passionate about human ecology. She has gotten hundreds of people worldwide to switch to a wholefood plant-based diet and vegan life. Together with her husband Bill Tara, they have created The Human Ecology Project with a mission to stimulate public awareness and action toward the creation of a healthy world for both human and non-human life.
