The inspiration for this episode actually came when I (Neal) was on another podcast sharing the idea of feeling safe to play versus playing it safe. It got me thinking more about the idea of safety and how it is a prerequisite for joy in our life. When we talk about safety, we aren’t just talking about the absence of danger but feeling emotionally safe, relationally safe, financially safe, etc… This psychological idea of safety is so important to every aspect of our lives. That is why we are going to talk about how we can reestablish safety in order to move beyond it to experience joy.
