Life Workshop | Episode 47 | Don't make it my Identity. Part 2
Manage episode 359839136 series 3324473
How do you describe yourself or someone you know? Do you talk more about the things they have inherited or the one they have chosen? e.g. their height, skin color, were they came from or about their behavior and interests and characters. I can understand that based on the circumstances the answer may vary, but which ones do you focus more on? Say it differently to avoid making it your identity when it is not, e.g.: I was born in Canada, Not I am Canadian I work as a Physical therapist, not I am a Physical therapist I was born a man, Not that I am a man I was born hetero or homo sexual, not I am hetero or homo sexual I work in management, not I am a manager I have a union membership not I am a union worker I run to exercise, not I am a runner The more you identify yourself with different tags, the easier to be attacked and get offended and less to be true yourself since after all you have to follow lot more boundaries and rules that you created for yourself However if it is your identity then say it, e.g. about me, I am curious and would love to improve constantly.
