“If my family knew how to welcome me when I came home, instead of me feeling like I needed to run away from them, I think that would be a big thing.” -Ejay Menchavez
The transition from military to civilian life can be challenging for some veterans. While most say readjusting to civilian life was easy, roughly one in four say it was at least somewhat difficult. This is why most of the warriors in our communities need reintegration practices to help cope with civilian life.
In this episode of The Wenner Folsom Battle Tested Resiliency Podcast, we are exploring some of the reintegration best practices from Army Ranger, Ejay Menchavez. Ejay is a decorated combat Army Ranger who left the military, struggled with the reintegration process, and eventually discovered dance as a means of expression. He ultimately received his degree from USC’s, Masters of Business for Veterans and has transitioned into the role of the “warrior in the garden” as he continues to mentor others.
