Gina Schaefer is the founder and CEO of A Few Cool Hardware Stores. She and her husband are members of the Ace Hardware Cooperative, and together they own and operate 13 hardware stores. Gina's passion is for developing urban markets, supporting small businesses, and helping women succeed in all aspects of the hardware industry.
We open this episode with Gina talking about her decision to go into the hardware industry after being let go three in her career. She opened her first store in 2003 out of a necessity in the community and two years later would begin opening a store every year to reach the 13 stores. She shares with us how the name A Few Cool Hardware Stores came about and her future succession plan for the company.
