For today’s episode, I want to continue the work we started last month in processing our emotions. An essential understanding of this work is the difference between regulating and processing our emotions.

In this episode, I explore what emotional regulation is and why it is necessary, and I share some techniques you can use to regulate your emotions. Once you can move to a more regulated state, you can process your emotions and make sense of them.

These skills are vital in dealing with our world and our lives. Learning about how you can regulate and process your emotions can improve your response to heightened situations. As part of this episode, I walk through a recent example with my daughter, where I wasn’t regulated and I responded in the moment. However, what I did next allowed me to demonstrate that I have the capacity to regulate my emotions and process my response to difficult or frightening situations.

If you want to work through this further and invest in more than just surface-level solutions, I invite you to join me for coaching in 2024. I work with clients who want to dig deeper into their patterns and beliefs, and craft a narrative that propels them into a life that blows their mind. Client spots for 2024 are filling up, so if you're interested, sign up for the interest list now!
