In this Film Ireland podcast, Gemma Creagh talks to Ian Hunt-Duffy about his debut feature Double Blind. Double Blind is in Irish cinemas from Friday 9th February and is available on demand and digital February from 13th. Directed by Ian Hunt-Duffy and written by the award-winning screenwriter Darach McGarrigle and starring British actress Millie Brady (The Last Kingdom, The Queen’s Gambit, Roadkill) alongside horror icon Pollyanna McIntosh (Vikings: Valhalla, The Walking Dead, The Woman), Double Blind follows seven young test subjects who must face a terrifying side effect when an experimental drug trial goes horribly wrong – if you fall asleep you die. Trapped in an isolated medical facility, they must find a way to escape, and somehow manage to stay awake. The feature which was filmed in Limerick and Dublin had its world premiere Neuchâtel International Fantastic Film Festival (NIFFF) last year and has gone on to screen at numerous festivals across the globe including Leeds Film Festival, Newport Beach Film Festival, Galway Film Fleadh and Belfast Film Festival. Produced by Simon James Doyle for Dublin-based production company Failsafe Films in association with Los Angeles-based indie genre production company Epic Pictures Group and Screen Ireland.
