The Bit Players continue their Spooktacular string of movie podcast episodes with Roman Polanski's 1968 horror classic, Rosemary's Baby. They talk about what makes the film work so well, from the stellar performances and patient pacing to the realizations of the greatest fears the films builds up, and whether such a film would or does work with today's audiences. It's a film ripe with award-worthy performances, with obvious standout Mia Farrow getting buoyancy from her supporting cast that becomes revelatory with subsequent viewings, but many films of that era have great performances, and what makes Rosemary's Baby stand above the rest is Polanski's unrelenting vision of evil that the viewer constantly hopes won't come to fruition; the payoff is in the fact that the evil is very real and we awake to the shouts of "Hail Satan!"
