JULY 15, 2017 - It's THE DAILY SHOW WEEKLY PODCAST, a rewatch hosted by Vic Shuttee (@VicShuttee) and Chandler Dean (@chandlerjdean)! In a tumultuous first season of Jon Stewart’s Daily Show, there have been high highs and low lows. After Rich Brown’s reign of terror, it seemed pretty clear that the gang was content to spin wheels until the new millennium, offering up clip shows, sequels and garbage ala cart. Then out of nowhere: an amazing week of moments like this. We’ve got interviews with John McCain in the spin room, Steve Carell fighting with George Stephanopoulos, Paul Rudd in full Jon Stewart Show regalia, the debut of correspondent Nancy Walls, and Jon finding his unknown talent to hold a normal conversation for longer than 4 minutes with the watershed two-parter with Senator Bob Dole! Also, Rob Schneider shows up. Eh, what are you gonna do? Still, perhaps the best week of TDS yet? Only time will tell if Just Barely Television is an era of hope or disappointment. The Daily Show Weekly: A Vic and Chandler Rewatch is an unofficial fan podcast designed to serve as a critical companion to the “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart”, which belongs to Comedy Central and can be watched in clips at CC.com. Our thoughts and criticism are intended to offer historical reflection and enhance the viewing experience for new and old fans journeying through Jon Stewart’s seminal talk show run. Our awesome album artwork is designed by Felipe Flores Comics, and our theme music is by Michael Turnage!
