The sermon was delivered on Sunday, December 8, 2019, at All Souls Unitarian Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma, by Rev. Dr. Marlin Lavanhar, Senior Minister. DESCRIPTION “The Christians and the Pagans sat together at the table, Finding faith and common ground the best that they were able, Lighting trees in darkness, learning new ways from the old, and Making sense of history and drawing warmth out of the cold.” —lyric from Dar Williams' "The Christians and the Pagans," Mortal City album, 1996 This lyric reminds me of the underlying unity that is the spirit of All Souls. We can we find common ground across our religious differences in ways that make the holidays a time of connection and love rather than separation and judgement. Rick Fortner will accompany my message with his version of Dar Williams song, The Christians and the Pagans.
