I have so much love for all the ways social media has been able to connect me to people all over the world, meet new friends, grow my business, and hell, even reconnect me with the man that I would eventually marry.
But anything this powerful should be given respect, and a double-edged sword should be handled carefully. As many benefits that these amazing apps bring, there are many downsides of being on social media TOO much. Depression, social isolation, and the dark rabbit hole of comparison. While we do get some noteworthy posts from different social media influencers shedding light on the "REAL VS INSTAGRAM", those posts are forgotten as quickly as the next thumb swipe....and the vicious cycle continues.
As someone who has to be on social media all day every day, you can bet I get my fill. It takes work but it's not impossible to stop the self sabotaging narrative that pops up when you're wondering why you don't have "X" or you're not "Z".
