How To Understand The Baffling Back and Forth of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde
Manage episode 377355579 series 3418569
There’s something truly baffling about the radical personality shifts of narcissists.
On one hand, they can be kind, compassionate, thoughtful, intelligent, funny, and truly helpful.
They can be there in multiple ways when you need them and you feel so grateful for that. On the other hand, they can be selfish, insensitive, mean, manipulative, demeaning, and even sadistic.
For a while you felt like a Princess who had finally found her Prince. You were so happy and felt there was a bright future ahead.
Then something shifted.
Trying to figure out what was happening felt like trying to catch a shadow.
In exasperation you confided in a friend you felt like you were dealing with Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, but you never knew which one you were going to get.
What you didn’t realize was that you really were dealing with Dr Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.
Except it was the reverse. Mr. Hyde was his true nature. Dr. Jekyll was who he brought out to keep you in the game with him.
This is SO unlike the way normal people think or behave that it’s truly baffling to understand.
So pour yourself a cup of tea, get comfy, and join us in our conversation today because we’re going to unpack this baffling back and forth of the Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde phenomenon common to narcissists and help you make sense of it all.
