According to Bank of America Merrill Lynch, the space sector, could be worth $2.7 trillion dollars by 2045. As of today, roughly 550 people in the entire world have actually been to space, pretty much all of those people can fit on an Airbus 380, but that’s about to change in a huge way.
A trip to space will start at about $250,000, but space tourism is only part of what’s happening in this category. For the first time in 70 years, the president signed off on creating a new branch of the armed forces called the Space Force. It will be housed inside of the Air Force and is expected to cost an estimated $2 billion dollars over five years. There’s something of value in space that is now worth protecting. What is it?
