In this episode of Casa De Confidence, we had the privilege of hosting Cara Tuttle, a distinguished speaker, author, consultant, and activist-minded educator with nearly two decades of experience in higher education. Cara's impressive background includes serving as the Director of the Vanderbilt University Project Safe Center for Sexual Misconduct Prevention and Response since its founding in 2014. She is also a Senior Lecturer at the Vanderbilt University College of Arts and Science.
Cara has emerged as an influential and award-winning leader in addressing sexual harassment and assault in higher education. Her outstanding service to students and leadership in institutional advocacy at Vanderbilt University has not gone unnoticed. In 2016, Cara received the K.C. Potter Outstanding Service to Students Award from the Vanderbilt University Office of the Dean of Students. Additionally, she was honored in 2015 with the Mary Jane Werthan Award, recognizing her systemic contributions to the advancement of women at Vanderbilt. This prestigious award is named in honor of Mary Jane Werthan, the first woman member of the Vanderbilt Board of Trust.
Cara Tuttle's journey is marked by a relentless pursuit of equity, empowerment, and justice. Her multifaceted contributions in addressing sexual misconduct, fostering gender equity, and empowering women make her a beacon of inspiration.
