×Crimes Against Pop Culture Happy Boovember! We only recorded one episode for the month of October so we decided to carry the scary over to November and then we said that we might as well come up with a cool sounding name and Boovember was born. Although I'm not sure if anyone else has thought of it so let's just say we are borrowing it for now. On this Episode of CAPC, Gerry and I watch, "The Fly". A horror classic with some very disturbing imagery. If you have a weak constitution then I suggest maybe just listening to the episode and skip the movie. Let's just say that if watching a person transform for a normal human being into a insect like creature is not your thing, then this isn't the movie for you. You should definitely still listen because we are far from disgusting. Listen Here! Subscribe Here!…
Crimes Against Pop Culture Happy Halloween! Well not for another few days but it still is October and in honor of this horror filled month, we decided that we should watch some scary movies. We start it off with a bang and watch "Carrie" from 1976. This hour (?) classic comes from the twisted mind of Stephen King and is directed by Brian De Palma. This is another classic that passed Gerry by and apparently myself as well because I did not remember anything about this movie. I could have sworn that I had seen it before. Take a listen as we discuss how I think this shouldn't be classified as a horror movie. Find out what we do think it should be classified as. Enjoy the episode and we here at CAPC hope you have a spook filled Halloween! Listen Here! Subscribe Here!…

Crimes Against Pop Culture

Crimes Against Pop Culture On this episode of CAPC, Gerry steps out of his comfort zone and chose a musical to watch. Although he did chose a classic, I don't know if it will be enough to change his mind on the art of musicals. We go on to have a meaningful conversation about the darker side of the world's history and get a little emotional. Then we get Gerry's take and opinions on our one and probably only musical. Crimes Against Pop Culture Let's get ready to jibber-jabber! On this week's episode, Gerry and I watch and discuss "Rocky V." I have to say that I have watched some shitty movies in my day, but this comes really close to winning the WME (Worst Movie Ever) title belt. Listen as we rant about the plot holes, the aging of a favorite son and why one character looks older than when he was killed off. We also contemplate the Latin translation of a certain spherical body part. As with all the other movies we have watched, Gerry and I spoil the shit out of this one. So if you haven't seen it, watch the movie first or we will ruin the ending for you. ROCKY WINS!!! There, now you don't have to watch this shitty movie. Listen Here! Subscribe to iTunes!…
Crimes Against Pop Culture Another week, another "Rocky" movie. The showdown is here! USA vs Russia, Rocky vs Drago! This week Gerry and I take a look at "Rocky IV". The cold war is in full swing and so is Pro-USA propaganda. Find out which one of our lovable characters doesn't make it to the end of this Boxing Drama. Gerry gets close to being punched in the "Steve" and I learn a valuable lesson. Ok, I don't learn a valuable lesson but I do think about it. For like a second. Subscribe to iTunes! Listen here!…
Crimes Against Pop Culture Here we go again, everyone!! Episode number 8 is here. This week Gerry and I discuss the third part in the "Rocky" saga, "Rocky III". Listen as Gerry finds out some very interesting trivia about this particular chapter of the "Rocky" lore. Find out why Mr. T's mother was upset at him and how long did Hulk Hogan and Sylvester really tangle inside the ring. As usual Gerry and I make complete asses of ourselves but at least we can make you laugh while doing it. Subscribe to iTunes! Listen here!…
Crimes Against Pop Culture Ding, Ding. LET'S GET READY TO RAMBLE!!! Well I couldn't say rumble. Michael Buffer would sue the pants off of me. This week Gerry and I climb into the ring to discuss Rocky. The Academy Award winning movie, starring Sylvester Stallone. "You know what I mean?" Listen to the podcast and you will find out what I mean by that quote. Please listen below or subscribe to iTunes. Subscribe to iTunes! Listen Here!…
Crimes Against Pop Culture On this episode of Crimes Against Pop Culture, Gerry and I watch and discuss an 80's classic, "Footloose". A movie that has scarred me for life, listen to find out why. We also try a new delicacy, tractor chicken. Mmm... It's delicious. You might even hear from our new co-host, Phoebe, the puppy. She made it almost impossible to record this episode. Subscribe Here! Crimes Against Pop Culture ***This episode was originally published in June, 2011.*** You asked for it you got it! A whole hour of Gerry and I. That's right, we broke the hour mark with this episode. This episode clocks in at an hour and seven minutes. Damn, I think we talk too much. Or maybe we don't talk enough. I wouldn't know because no one emails me to disagree. On this weeks episode Gerry and I watch, Rocky II. The old gang reunites for the "Rematch of the Century". This time, Mr. Stallone, not only stars and writes but also directs. So come on and listen as we ponder the great mysteries of life. Ok, maybe not the mysteries of life. Subscribe to iTunes! Listen Here!!…

Crimes Against Pop Culture

Crimes Against Pop Culture On today's episode of CAPC, we watch a 70's classic, "The French Connection". With one of the best car chases of all time, this Gene Hackman classic wrestles with the age old question, how many kilos of coke can you hide in a 1970 Lincoln Continental Mark III? The answer to that question and so many others aren't answered here but you should still take a listen. Subscribe Here!…

Crimes Against Pop Culture This is it. The very first episode back from our long hiatus. After Gerry nagged and nagged, day and night, day in and day out, week after week and month after month. We sat down and recorded a new episode. If you didn't read the subtitle, the movie we discuss on this episode, is "Citizen Kane". The movie that is considered the granddaddy to all of the movies. The number one film on all of the lists, or at least it was until an old, negative review dethroned it from Rotten Tomatoes' top spot. Take a listen and find out what we both though of this 80 year old movie that neither of us had seen. Subscribe Here! Listen Here!…
