De poëtische film I’m Still Alive vertelt het verhaal van Jadwiga Kubis Waslicka (1919), een oude Poolse dame. Armoede, katholicisme, communisme en fascisme hebben haar opgejaagd door Polen, Duitsland, Engeland en Nederland. Op hoge leeftijd keert ze uiteindelijk terug naar haar moederland. In Warschau, haar geboortestad, voert ze een eenzame strijd tegen het verval van haar lichaam. Filmmaker Peter van Houten volgde haar elf jaar lang met zijn camera. Lotje IJzermans praat met hem over de film I’m Still Alive, die voor het International Rotterdam Film Festival 2012 werd geselecteerd.
