Rhonda’s guest today is Cathy Himlin, Family and Marriage Therapist and court officer in Dependency Court. Rhonda and Cathy take an honest look at parenting through divorce and how the court system doesn’t always support what’s best for the child. Here is what they cover:

  • Divorce shifts a parent’s role.

  • The developmental stages of a child must be considered.

  • Imbalance in the parenting roles can be financially motivated.

  • Parental Alienation - what it is, and what it isn’t.

  • Separate court from time with your child.

About today’s guest:

Cathy Himlin is a member of the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts and an

affiliate member of the San Diego Family Law Bar Association. At the request

of the latter, she has developed trainings for attorneys to help them support

their clients (both minors and their parents) in Family Law and Dependency

Courts. Cathy is the President and CEO of Family Connections Therapy and the

Founder of Himlin Consulting, as well as being a court-involved family

therapist with over 25 years of experience.
