Join us for a conversation with Cameron Poole to learn more about taking a grassroots and systematic DEO Approach in the realm of Public Education.
Cameron is the Chief Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Officer at the School District of Clayton. He brings his own unique perspective to his work: he believes every school, district, company, or corporation’s makeup is built toward a certain likeness, identity, or norm. Cameron is passionate about highlighting what this norm is, bringing other identities that “don’t fit” to light, and (with this in mind) rebranding practices and symptoms to be more inclusive. Cameron is a dynamic educational leader who is committed to the development of students into capable, curious, caring, and confident learners. He has been described as a memorable coach, as someone who gives the same level of commitment to the most talented as to those who are often overlooked. Cameron’s original passion was to be a head high school football coach, he has studied abroad in South Africa, and while not originally planning toward a career in DEI, his experiences have rightfully thrust him into his current role.
