In this episode we dive into navigating grief as an extension from our first episode #106 with guest expert Cassandra Grant. Cassandra has a huge passion for helping people navigate their grief journey through her grief groups and her social media pages. In @my_grief_diary_ she shares her insights and wisdom on navigating grief so go give her a follow and reach out to if you have any questions from the episode.
In this episode, we also put a big focus on Father's Day as we both have lost our dads and wanted to share some helpful things that help us navigate this holiday and the changes it brings. You can change the message from Father's Day to any holiday you are navigating without your loved one. One of the hardest things is those first Holidays without your person because everything changes. We share lots of helpful ideas on navigating those changes.
In this episode:
- Awareness to grief
- Stages of grief - importance of acknowledging where you are (and a reminder it's not always linear)
- Guilt around grief
- Therapy
- Father's Day - helpful tips, resources, strategies or ideas to celebrate
- Permission on Holidays
- Change - handling change
- Connecting with lost loved ones (never lost just transitioned)
- Getting help or support
- The importance in having conversations
- The significance of connections
- How to help someone navigating grief
- Anticipating grief
