As good as this may seem, and it is, travelling most of the time is great experience we all want to have, and have sooner or later in our lives. Sometimes, however, it gives unnecessary tension afterwards when you come back. Most of us have a hard time to get back to our schedule, get back on track. No matter what, either you work from home or you have a day job, it still gives that travel buzz, that tension. Besides the obvious, that you need to get sleep back on track, make it even exciting productive challenge to take it in your pocket. So let me give you 3 tools to change your routine and own it when travelling sneaks in.

1. Firstly, SEE IT AS A EXCITING CHALLENGE, RATHER THAN UNCONTROLLED TRAVEL DRAG . If you would only to be focused in experimental environment**, where you disabled all the possible triggers, all distractions and interruptions, you have all shortcuts you need, you don’t have anything interrupting you, you’d think that’s the most productive way to work, right? What would you say if I’d told you this way you might loose an important note of your creative energy? And it's actually healthy to get in the move? I know I know, interruptions aren’t good, I’m not saying it is. It takes a long time to get that focus back to your productivity afterwards. And that’s true. But what if you get highly interrupted unexpectedly even by your own plans? For example, you have reached bigger financial goal than you expected, or you have to travel somewhere, or simply new member comes into your family or anything good happens. If you’re so good at focus, how would you react then? How would your routine change then? How would your productivity levels would go: up or down? Do you know that? Have you ever experienced that? So fi you’re so good at focus, you shouldn’t even bother too much.

You know there’s a great saying: ‘If you’re so good at meditating, try to do so at the airport’.

That’s the biggest test and skill you want to have to maintain that meditation. In any circumstance. So same goes with focus. It is trained. Routine is trained as well. So actually seing travelling as a chance to built your flexibility muscle, will make you more focused, more happy, more productive and more unshakeable in the end. No more travel buzz, no more interruption drag. Only excitement, growth and skillset.

2. TRICK YOUR TIME IN MIND SO YOU SEE IT AS A SPACE RATHER THAN A LINEAR ONE. How can you do this? Being in the now. See things as a whole, rather than seperate chapters. Do whatever you need to do: check your bags in, fly, go to places, but during all the travelling use it as a space to charge up. Imagine this. It is just a shift in space. And you have control over your perception and over your time. Maintain food, water supplies, sleep when you can, meditate. And if you didn't get enough sleep during the flight, you just need to catch up with it in the other side of the world. At your own timing. Use every second. See time as a space. You are just expanded. And while you travel you have so many gaps where you can sneak in meditation, fill in sleep, resting and charge time, chilling time, self-care, to maintain that travelling all the time.

You are in charge of your travel, do not be taken by it.

Enjoy and use very single gap you have during that time: while you travel, while you have time between the meetings and etc. Use some of that time to reflect back: what are you doing? what is the time now? Do not think this is any different from your daily life. You just moved in space. Even though if you’re living somewhere in the opposite side of the world and now you’re in Hawaii, you just moved in space. Your daily life in general sense doesn’t change, you just have new experiences. Like you’d have in the same space with doing something new. Of course, again, you need to get sleeping/energy power if you couldn’t charge during the flight. But other than that, you can boost your energy during all the time. So see it as a space rather than a time.

3. Most importantly, UNBLOCK YOUR UNSHAKABLE GROUND, embrace your totem daily. Check in with it. Like in the ‘Inception’ they have a totem to check in wether they’re in a reality or in a dream, your routine, the core of it, should be as your totem. These are your ways to get still, empty your mind, and clear yesterday’s dirt. Because you don’t want to bring it to the next day, it will become distractions from within. You do not need that. Make those habits, in the morning, evening and one during the day (most preferably 3 times a day), as something to remind yourself where you’re at, who you are and clearing yourself out. So these are of your choice, your totem - ‘An elegant solution for keeping track of reality’. You need to have at least one unshakeable habit, say it morning routine: screenless time, time for your own to clean your head, and clean your head before the new day comes.

So this is how you’ll not only have travelling more joyful, but you will reap the benefits of it and include that as your unshakable ground to any circumstance that might face you. Maybe even tomorrow. Who knows.
