If you know me, you know that I love hip circles... And so this interview with Jennifer Sobel was a real treat!

Jennifer has been a professional belly dance instructor and performer for 16+ years, and she now educates and empowers women that they don’t need to just accept a weak pelvic floor, bladder leakage or anything less than feeling in love with their bodies and themselves. There is a FUN and empowering solution to pelvic floor strength: belly dance! In this episode, you will learn:

  • The ”happy accident” that led Jennifer to discover that belly dance naturally strengthens the pelvic floor and can help relieve incontinence.
  • The scientific research study that shows belly dance to be an effective strategy for strengthening the pelvic floor and relieving stress incontinence. (Yes, they actually did a research study on this in the Journal of Physical Therapy Science!)
  • The history of belly dance and its connection with preparing a woman for childbirth.
  • How belly dance movements work and their unique ability to both relax and strengthen the pelvic muscles.
  • Belly dance as a unique dance form designed for a woman’s body that helps you connect with your inner goddess and feel sexy sensual at any age.

Jennifer Sobel is the founder of The Belly Dance Solution. The Belly Dance Solution provides women with a unique, fun and empowering way to strengthen their pelvic floor. Connect with Jennifer:
