Today I am talking to Mary-Beth Hosking, who is a global CIO working in the CEO space. Mary-Beth’s new book is Not Another Digital Transformation which looks at how organisations can really do well, about how they can maintain the pace and efficiency of a startup as they grow. Transformation isn’t just about going digital. Transformation could be about re-imagining your organization from the ground up. We talk about the journey that small organisations take and how communication is easy at the beginning with a few people. At some point companies hit a barrier and silos are built, leading to inefficiency. We talk about how bloat happens in an organisation and why this is. It is difficult to work within an organisation that has lost sight of its vision, or one that is not explaining the vision all the way down through the tiers. A perfect antidote to this is the 10 X generation – a set of principles that allow us to look at what an organisations has, what works, what doesn't work. And then remove the things that are not working well.
