On this episode I am joined by Alisha Khalil. Alisha is a frequent Filled Up Cup collaborator and shares her personal experience with arranged marriages.
Have you ever seen an episode of Married at First Sight or similar dating show and thought wouldn't it be so simple to have it all planned for you and just live happily ever after?!? Alisha shares her experiences of being raised in a family unit where her parents marriage was arranged and she also had an arranged marriage. It wasn't something that she wanted for herself but the immense pressure she felt to be the "perfect" daughter and not disappoint her family. We talk about generational trauma that can come along with following family traditions.
