This week on Homeopathy for Mommies, Sue Meyer talks about the remedy Silicea terra. Here are some important points from the podcast about Silicea:

The action of this remedy is slow: but long and deep acting. It is a Tissue Salt and is essential to strong Skin, Hair and Cellular strength.

It triggers the body to rally together and then Expel, foreign particles, toxins and other unwanted material OUT. So is often used as a con-current remedy to eliminate toxins, infection, mucus, stones, slivers, etc.

Promotes suppuration (pus) of abscess. So use low potency if this is the object, high to dissolve. Always use LOW potency Silica when treating Lung disorders of chronic or long standing duration: you do not want to rally the system too quickly.

*Suits Well: Nervous, irritable, Sanguine temperament: Light complexion: fine dry skin: pale face: weakly, with lax muscles. From deficient nutrition, not because food is lacking in quality or quantity, but from imperfect assimilation (Bar.-c., Calc.): over-sensitive, physically and mentally.

~Effects of: Ill effects of Suppressed Sweat, especially Feet. Stone-Cutting. Loss of fluids, Injury, strains. Vaccinations. Splinters, foreign objects in tissue. Overwork, mental or physical.

Sue also spoke with Paola Brown from Americans for Homeopathy Choice about the recent actions they have taken to protect homeopathic remedies from an overzealous FDA that could ban entire categories of homeopathic products. Here’s some information from their website:

1. Along with many others from across the country, Americans for Homeopathy Choice has submitted several documents to the FDA opposing the proposed guidelines and emphasizing that the existing guidelines have worked well for the past 30 years.
Click here to read the MEMO we wrote the FDA.
-Click here to read our official comments to the FDA.
-Click here to read our Citizens Petition submitted the FDA.

2. They are encouraging anyone concerned about access to homeopathy to contact their members of Congress, both in the House and the Senate, to ask members to oppose the proposed guidelines. Click here for more information on how to do that and what to say.

3. They have arranged face-to-face meetings between FDA officials, our legal counsel, our staff, homeopathic physicians and concerned patients. In these meetings FDA officials have said that the vast majority of homeopathic remedies would remain available. But nothing in the proposed guidelines would stop the FDA from banning large numbers of homeopathic products, and there was no indication that the proposed guidelines will be changed to prevent this from happening.

4. They have produced videos and placed them online to inform people about the threat and what they can do about it. To see the videos, click here. (and please share them!)

5. They are coordinating the activities of volunteers all over the country who are spreading the word about the threat to our right to choose homeopathy. To become a volunteer, click here.
