Welcome to How I Sold! I’m Jessica Fialkovich and I created this podcast after spending over a decade in mergers, acquisitions, and exits and noticing that we often hear the stories of unicorn sales, those that are valued at over a billion dollars–but we don’t often hear about the real-life stories–the stories of the thousands of entrepreneurs every year that build, grow and sell their small business. These are their stories.

Today on the show... success leaves clues. Dennis Coombs an aerospace engineer and triathlete takes on the world of craft brewing and restaurants with three partners in the late 1990s boom of craft beer in Colorado. Dennis was not the entrepreneur type from birth we have interviewed in the past. He spent years educating himself and working as an engineer in some of the most successful aerospace companies in the U.S. But, after multiple acquisitions and mergers, he and his friends had enough. On an outdoor adventure one day, they decide that pursuing their own company was the only way to go. What to do? Why not beer?! And, that kicked off a 27.5-year journey that culminated with a successful exit most of them did not imagine. Contact Dennis Coombs via email: dlcoombs100@gmail.com. Learn more about How I Sold at www.exitfactor.com/howisold.

Presented and sponsored by Exit Factor. Learn how to build a valuable and sellable business at exitfactor.com/pod.
