Join Ailey Jolie and her interviewer, Giselle La Pompe-Moore for the first episode of In This Body. Giselle is a slow living advocate, author of "Take It In," artist, and writer of "Be Difficult, Darling" on Substack. Her approach to slow living emphasizes making joy, healing, and reflection more accessible to help us cope with fast-paced, distracted, and disconnected living. Giselle explores how we can find Quiet Joy in simple, everyday things, practice Quiet Rebellion by questioning hustle culture, and embrace Quiet Healing without the pressure of perfect wellness. Her ultimate goal is to inspire a Quiet Revolution, where we slow down enough to reconnect with our humanity and create meaningful social change.

In this episode Ailey reflects on her early childhood experiences of sexual abuse and neglect, and how this led to her life almost ending due to an eating disorder. She speaks to how struggling with an eating disorder was a result of wanting to numb the pain she had experienced as a young girl. Ailey reflects on how her personal experiences are woven into her professional life, and how her work as a psychotherapist is rooted in what her younger self needed. This interview is vulnerable, tender, and will open your heart to the grief and joy that is inhabiting a body. We hope you enjoy.
