Today Ali is talking to her incredible friend Alex Fain, who is the guy behind @pursuingfatherhood on IG. Alex is one of the few very vocal guys in this infertility community; he's spoken at Fertility Rally Live, and he's been very open about he and his wife, Laurin's, infertility journey. Alex talks about his male factor infertility, how they used donor sperm to conceive their baby girl, Delaney. He also discusses what it felt like to find out he "had no sperm," how he was "embarrassed and emasculated and ashamed by the whole thing," how hard it was to choose a donor, the perils of using expired home pregnancy tests, how it felt to finally get a positive pregnancy test, having a hard time grieving his genetics, how losing his dad suddenly when he was 19 added even more weight to infertility, how DNA doesn't make a family, and how you can be a "really good parent without being biologically connected to your kid."
