Come along with me on a journey through my experiences and reflections that began as a nine-year-old girl idolizing my best friend, Alexis. Our differences in appearance and backgrounds led me to express myself uniquely. However, it backfired when she copied my new look and outshined me by the kids in my school accepting her and not me. Looking back, I realize we were just seeking acceptance.

As I get older, I see a pattern in my friendships. Despite many acquaintances and a social media presence, I feel lonely. I've realized I'm scared of abandonment, so I push away those who care while seeking validation from strangers.

However, I'm determined to change. I know I need to get to know myself first before I can connect with others. Instead of trying to please everyone, I'll concentrate on those who truly appreciate me.

There's nothing I long for more than a best friend who loves and understands me for who I am-someone to have fun with and share secrets with. Despite the challenges, I won't give up.
